そう言えば母のバッグは、まるでドラエモンのポケットのようだった。
思春期を迎え母と共に出掛ける機会もめっきり減り、そんなことすらすっかり忘れ果てていた。
その事を再び思い出したのは、26歳の時だ。
親子三人のぼくの家は、お世辞にも豊かとは言えなかったが、それなりに倹しくも笑いの絶えぬ平和な毎日を送っていた。
しかしそんな我が家に突如として大事件が勃発。
一家の大黒柱の父が、前頭葉の動脈瘤破裂に倒れ緊急入院となったのだ。
手術中の赤いランプを眺めながら、母と二人でこの世も果てと言わんばかりに大きな溜め息を落としてばかり。
だがそんな切羽詰った状況下にあっても、健康体のぼくの内臓はめげることなく活発に機能し、時折りグッグーッと静まり返った廊下で悲鳴を上げた。
「何い、もうこんな時に！」。
思いつめた母の顔にわずかな笑みが戻った。
まるで憑物が一瞬のうちに落ちたように。
すると徐にバックを覗き込み、「こんな時にもう。これでも食べときなさい」と。
喫茶店でコーヒーのお供に出される小袋入りのピーナツを差し出した。
封を切り一口で食べ終えると、母はバッグをまさぐり無言でもう一袋を取り出す。
母は恐らくどこぞの喫茶店で供されたものを食べず、こんなこともあろうかと持ち帰っていたのだろう。
ピーナツから一口サイズのカステラ、そして果ては紙ナプキンに包まれたゆで卵まで。
手術が無事終わることだけを祈り、不安に苛まれながらもただ待ち続けるしかなかった母とぼくは、ドラエモンのポケットのような母のバックに救われた。
おまけに父も命拾いしたのだから、それはそれはたいしたものだ。
「この落花生を塩茹でしてお米と一緒に炊くと、これがまた美味いんやて。美並の郷土料理やわ」。
その名も「落花生ごはん」とか、実にストレートで分かりやすい料理名だ。
長良川の川岸の畑に屈み込み、茎を土中から抜き取り、土塗れの落花生を収穫しながら郡上市美並町大原の末松房子さん（73）は顔を上げニッコリ。
長良川鉄道のみなみ子宝温泉駅を100㍍ほど南へ下った畑である。
その先には真っ赤な勝原橋と鉄橋が架りなんとも風情がある。
「ここで日がな一日のんびり畑耕して、疲れたら駅の温泉に浸かって極楽気分やて」。
夫の栄さん（82）が、鍬を片手に笑った。
「まあ家風呂みたいなもんやて」。
夫婦は今年で結婚50年。
男子二人を授かり、今は長男夫婦と孫の三世代同居。
「他のことやれんで、家族で食べる分の野菜を二人で呆け防止に作っとるんやて」。
二人の小さな畑には、一年を通じ野菜の花が咲き乱れやがて実を結ぶ。
「連れ添って50年やで、そりゃあ喧嘩なんて数え切れんって」。
二人で顔を見合わせ笑った。
顔に刻まれた幾筋もの皺。
それは半世紀を喜怒哀楽と共に歩んだ者だけが、やっと手にすることの出来る夫婦の勲章なのだ。

今でこそ少なくなったけど 数年前までは 息子達の不測の事態に備えて 着替え一式から始まり 救急セット お箸スプーンフォーク一式 濡れタオル お菓子やお茶etc
息子達が幼児の頃 私が持ってた鞄の中身となんら変わらず ずっと大きな鞄を持ち歩いてました。買い物をすると倍の重さになるので 重いのなんのって(笑)
今では 消毒スプレーが必需品だけど 息子と一緒の時は 相変わらずお菓子とお茶が入ってます( ◠‿◠ )
どんなに子どもたちが大人になったにせよ、お母さんって人は、何よりもまず食べさせることを基本中の基本と、誰に教わるでもなくそう思っていらっしゃる証なんでしょうねぇ。
それが海よりも深い、母の愛なんだとぼくは思います。
久しく喫茶店へ行って「モーニング」を食べてない！
丁度、昨日、「モーニングサービス」発祥の地は・・
一宮と言う事で、こんな身近な一宮だったとはビックリ！
モーニングの品数を見ると、利益は出るのか？心配になるよねぇ！
3年位前、オカミノファミリーの皆さんでランチ会、お茶会だとか
やったけど、あん時は楽しかったな～ぁ⤴
一日でも早く、オカダさんを囲んでヤイノヤイノと言いたいねぇ！
きっときっともう一頑張り自分が自分を律することが出来れば、コロナ禍を笑い話に挿げ替えられるんじゃないでしょうか？
そんな些細な明日に、やっぱり今夜も乾杯～っ！
嗚呼、死ぬほど腹一杯キリン一番搾りが呑みたい～っ！
バッグの中には、よくガムや飴を入れてました。今、バッグに必ず入っている物はな〜んだ？そう、エコバッグ。オカダさんもそうでしょ•̀.̫•́✧
