昭和がらくた文庫80話(2017.07.27新聞掲載)～「小京都から、飛騨の都・高山へ」

「ただいま～っ！」。

「あら、お帰り～っ！」。

そう言っていつも出迎えてくれるのは、彼岸の岸の向こうに御(おわ)座(す)す、母であろうはずもない。

高山市国分寺通りの、市内の中心部。

軒の打ち水が似合う、日本情緒たっぷりな旅館「田邉」の女将、田邉晶子さんである。

もうかれこれ、15年ほど前になろうか。

某新聞社で連載した、「天職一芸」で、確か3人目の天職人として、飛び込み取材でお邪魔した、その時の女将だ。

以来、女将やご主人様に、早くに亡くした両親の面影を、ぼくはついつい重ねた。

とは言えご両人ともに、ぼくの両親よりは、遥かにお若く、お叱りを受けそうなものだが。

そんな縁(えにし)で、飛騨へと旅する度、さもありなんとわが家のごとく、振舞っている次第である。

今や世界中の観光客で賑わう、飛騨高山の老舗旅館。

女将やご主人様ばかりか、すっかり顔見知りになった、仲居さんまでもが、「お帰り～っ」と、何の衒(てら)いもなく自然体で、出迎えてくれるのだから嬉しい。

しかしそれは、なにもぼくだけにではない。

世界中から飛騨高山へと訪れる、すべての旅行者にも同様だ。

旅館「田邉」には、取り分け西欧からのお客様が多い。

しかし、どんなに言葉が違えど、客をもてなす心に国境など有ろうはずもない。

例え肌の色や言語が異なろうとも、相手の想いさえ慮れば、自ずと以心伝心である。

日本人のぼくでさえ、ここを一夜の旅の宿としたことを、誇らしく思う。

だから何千何万キロも遥か彼方の地から、ここ岐阜県へ、また飛騨高山へとおいでになる、西欧からのゲストたちにすれば、きっとぼく以上に、そう感じるに違いない。

それが証拠に、彼らは旅館「田邉」の居心地の良さと、人情味溢れるもてなしを、ネット上へと書き込む。

するとそれを見た次のゲストが、わざわざここへと遥々訪ね来るのだ。

昭和45年のディスカバージャパンで、アンノン族が闊歩した「小京都」高山。

あれから約半世紀を経て、今や名実ともに世界の「飛騨の都・高山」となった。

  1. 田邉旅館のご主人様には1度お逢いしてお話させて頂きました。物腰柔らかく、穏やかに話をされる方でした。自分のご褒美にと決めてはや三年、未々、高山の地に行くことすらできず歯がゆい想いをしています。コロナ収束したら何処へと聴かれた時『高山行くよ』と即答したのを思い出しました。

    1. 直ぐにでも飛んで行きたいのもやまやまです。
      でも今は、うかつに行動すれば、自分だけではなく周りにも思わぬ迷惑を掛けちゃいそうですものねぇ。

  3. 電車に揺られて飛騨高山へ行きたいなぁなんて思っていたらこんな世の中に。な〜ンか歳だけ取って行くような気がする(~_~;)

    お参りをして、御守をいただいた後は　田邊旅館さんで　冷え切った身体を温め　ながら　美味しいコーヒーを　ほっ！と

    ２日目のバスツアーへ　出発　♬
