晩年父は、認知症に蝕まれた。
斑となった記憶の欠片を必死に紡ぎ出し、ぼくとの会話に勤めたものだ。
しかしぼくが息子であることを認識できるのも、日に日に少なくなった。
そんなある日の事だ。
「あっ、お母さんか？この投げ売り状態の、安すうなったクリスマスケーキでええんやな？」と、突然公衆電話の受話器を耳に当てる仕草で話し始めた。
思い返せば昭和半ばのわが家では、クリスマスと言えば24日のイブではなく、25日の夜遅くと決まっていたものだ。
しかもクリスマスケーキは、父が会社帰りに買って来る、売れ残った投げ売り状態の、バタークリームのケーキと決まっていた。
しかも聖火も讃美歌も無い。ポータブルのレコードプレーヤーから流れるのは、数少ないわが家にあるレコード盤の「小樽の女よ」か「軍歌」。
もっぱら母が「小樽の女よ」で、父は「軍歌」専門。
世辞にも、ロマンチックさなど欠片も無い。
それでも両親は、見よう見真似で異国の仕来りを取り入れ、他所の家に劣って倅に恥をかかすまいと、体裁を整えたのだろう。
「♪徐州徐州と人馬は進む♪」。
父は特別養護老人ホームの玄関に飾られた、クリスマスツリーを胡乱な眼つきで眺めながら、皺部く声で軍歌の一節を朗じた。
子どもの頃、クリスマスケーキの蝋燭を灯すと、必ず父が歌った歌である。
不意に瞼が滲んだ。
戦争に蝕まれた、父の青春時代に思い至ったから。
たった一銭五厘の赤紙一枚で、貴重な青春を差し出すしか術の無かった世代。
しかも記憶に焼き付いた歌は、あの生々しい軍歌でしか無かったのかと。
喜怒哀楽全ての想いを綯い交ぜにして、父の世代の一介の兵士たちは、遠い遠い異国の地で、戦意を鼓舞する軍歌に想いを託すしか無かったのだ。
来年は、戦後70年の節目。
二度と戦意を鼓舞したような軍歌を、1億2千7百万の民が口にすることがあってはならぬ。
きっと70年以上前に、一世を風靡した、あの軍歌たちこそが、その時代の嘆かわしき昭和歌謡そのものであったのだから。

レコードと言えば
子供の頃、あったのが「ソノシート」ってあったよねぇ！
えっ？そんなの知らない！
塩化ビニールで出来ていて、色が赤とか青とか・・
確か、なんかの付録に付いていたと思う！
勿論！オカダさん知ってるでしょう。
ペラッペラの不思議でならないソノシート。
でもTV漫画の主題歌とかがちゃんと聞こえてきたものでしたねぇ。
流行る音楽って その時代々に反映してますよね⁈
私は 運転する時 その時の心情で曲を選んでます。自分を奮い立たせたくて明るく元気な曲を流し 大声で唄ったり 逆にシックな曲で泣いてみたり(笑)
昭和歌謡ガンガンに聴いてますよ( ◠‿◠ )
その時代その時代の合わせ鏡が、その時代その時代のはやり歌なんですものねぇ。
そんなはやり歌を聞いたり歌ったりして、その時代に思いを馳せるのも悪かぁないですものねぇ。
「麦と兵隊」先日初めて見えたデイ利用者の男性が、カラオケの時に「軍歌、歌ってもいいでしょうか？」と尋ねられて、遠慮がちに歌われました。以前は歌う方が多くみえましたが、最近は少なくなりました。久しぶりでした！
そうでしたかぁ。
ご利用者の方々も、そりゃあ年々次の世代の方へと移って行っているんですねぇ。
やがてゆく道。
自分のお小遣いで初めて買ったレコードが、ドラマの挿入歌か何かの竜雷太「あの娘と暮らしたい」だったと思います。
なンせ50年以上前の事だから、あれっ!!どんな曲だったかなぁとYou Tubeで聴いてみたんです。そうそう、この曲この曲⤴️懐かしく蘇ってきました。あ〜、いい時代になったなぁ(^^♪
確かにとっても便利な時代ですけど、その分うっかりするとデンジャラスな目にあうこともありますから、ご用心ご用心。
