今日の「天職人」は、名古屋市下之一色町の「漁網職人」。
新川縁（しんかわべり）の 船溜まり 朝陽にはためく 大漁旗 川面に波頭 カモメが群れりゃ 河岸も俄かに 活気付く 軒を寄せ合う 路地裏は 腕白坊主の チャンバラ劇場 面子ビー玉 屑鉄拾い ポケット一杯 夢いっぱい 尾張最後の 漁師町 両郡橋から 眺めれば 眩い昭和の 残像が 波紋の渦に もまれて消えた
名古屋市中川区下之一色町で漁網を製造販売する、水谷商店三代目、水谷文雄さんを訪ねた。
「三人兄弟で、俺がババ引いちまったもんで、跡継いで婆あの面倒まで見とんだて、おめえさん」。文雄さんが小声で呟いた。
明治末期、海部郡蟹江町で櫓の職人をしていた祖父が、漁師町として栄える下之一色町に櫓の職人が一人もいないことに眼を付け、両郡橋の袂、大銀杏脇に漁具店を開業。店の真横の船溜まりから、漁師達が数珠繋ぎで陸に上がって来たと言う。
しかし昭和34（1959）年、伊勢湾台風が直撃。その後、高潮防波堤の建設に伴い、漁師たちの多くが漁業権を一斉に放棄。陸に上がった漁師達からは、気っ風のいい声が消え、人手に沸いた商店街の街頭スピーカーからは、うらぶれた演歌だけが虚しく響く。
子供の頃から魚獲りに明け暮れた文雄さんは、高校を出ると早朝から魚市場でアルバイトを終え、父の仕事を手伝った。「親父はコツコツとよう働いとった。婿養子だったでな」。
文雄さんは反物で網を仕入れ、かがり目が解けぬよう一つ一つ手縫いで紡ぐ。大小のタモから、生け簀用のタモに、果ては地引網。そして一度網に入ったが最後の、地獄網まで。魚の生態を知り尽くし、見事なまでに魚の習性を巧みに利用する。
「昔は外国船の船員が、わざわざ三枚網を買いに、千円札を束で持って来よったて。でもよぉ、おめえさん。あいつら靴履きのまんま座敷に上がって来るでかんて」。三枚網とは、三枚重ねの漁網。一枚目と三枚目の網目は大きく、海老も魚も入り込む。しかし真ん中の小さな編目に引っ掛かり、一網打尽となる。実に日本人の繊細な手先が紡ぎ出した、漁網の逸品だ。「でもよう、今はまああかん。遊び漁師の時代だで。喰ってくのもままならんで」。
文雄さんは生計を案じ、職安通いもした。「伝統漁法の技術だで、遺した方がええって、皆言わっせるが、言う方はええわさ、言うだけだで。そんでもこっちは、生きてかなかんでなぁ。でももうこの歳じゃ、就職口なんてあーせんて。我慢してやっとるだわさ」。文雄さんは切なげに苦笑い。
時の流れは、漁師町の面影を押し流した。しかし澱んだ川面は、あの頃と何も変わらぬ満ち引きを、今日も淡々と繰り返している。

・漁網を作る職人さんが見えるのですね｡ 今は､漁網だけで生活出来ないので､副業(内職)をしないと生活出来ないでしょうね｡
・水谷さんは､ｱﾙﾊﾞｲﾄを､終わってからお父さんのお仕事を､お手伝いしたのですね｡
・漁網も色々な種類(三枚網等)が有るのですね｡ 魚の習性を､知らないといけないのですね｡漁網を､作る時参考になりますね｡
・外国船の人が千円札を何枚か持っていって三枚網を､買いにきた時靴を脱がずに入って来たのは､仕方がない事ですね｡外国の習性だから仕方がないないですね｡
・漁網は､漁師さんの商売道具ですね｡
・伊勢湾台風のその後に､漁師さんが漁業権を破棄したのですね｡生活していけないと判断したからでしょうね｡
・歳を取ってから職安に通って仕事を､探す事は､難しいですね｡
「遊び漁師の時代だで…」
今の時代でも 生活を懸けて海に向かう方がみえるでしょうが だからこそ作業道具である網を大切に扱い ほつれる度に修理しながら使っているんでしょうね。
壊れたから すぐ買います！っていうわけにはいかないんですよね。
でもきっと こういうお店が無くなってしまうと困る方もたくさんみえるはず。
道具は、仕事をする様々な職人さんにとって、大切な大切な相棒ですものね。
穴が開てほつれた魚網を、編み物をしているか？のように
直している所を見た事がありますが、ホント綺麗に直っていました。
私なんかがやると、こんがらかって
せっかく、網にかかった魚が一網打尽処か一網逃げ出し！なんて事になると思います。
世間では、男によく騙された女性が言われるのが
「悪い網にかかったなぁ～⤴」と・・・
